Al Bateen is where Abu Dhabi still builds wooden boats, a few hundred metres from a marina full of carbon-fibre ones. The tour walks both, with time on the water in between. It is the clearest half-day in the city for understanding how fast this coast changed, and it ends at the beach that locals actually use.
